We’ve been running John Henry's Catering Company, as a husband and wife team, for over 25 years.

Like most businesses we started small, operating a pretty basic unit that we towed by car to local events such as fetes and car boot sales: our invaluable apprenticeship.

One day, someone must have particularly enjoyed our chips, a burger or a cup of tea (pretty much all we served in those days!), because out of the blue we were invited to take a sought after pitch at the massive Ford Sunday Market, in West Sussex.

This was a great opportunity that also provided us with a source of regular income – which we ploughed back into the business, continually upgrading our equipment.

Of course, the market also allowed us to attend other places during the week. And slowly but surely, our diary started to fill with a mixture of annual contracted events and private hires.

Hard work and determination obviously played their part, but a no-compromise approach to service meant we were greatly helped by word of mouth recommendations; something we’re proud to say is still the case.  

And now

Today we own several premium quality trailers, each of which is custom built to our own exacting specifications. Ranging from vintage to modern, they’re also sized, equipped and priced to suit every type of event as well as cater for any number of guests.

We attend many different types of bookings – all over the country – from corporate days to village fairs, from music festivals to religious celebrations, plus sports events , fundraisers, family fun days.

While one of us is always there in person, we have a team of qualified and friendly staff on hand for bigger events – you need them when you’re serving a ravenous crowd at a rock concert!
